Taylor Jenkins has a difficult task ahead of him as the Milwaukee Bucks' newest head coach as he's now the the man in charge of reviving a team that had their worst finish in over a decade and managing a roster that may lose it's biggest star by the start of next season. 

It won't be easy and now that Jenkins has had a few weeks since his hiring to settle in with the team and plan for the future, it's time for him to put together the coaching staff that'll help him get there. 

No hires have been confirmed yet, but according to a recent report by The Athletic, Darvin Ham, Patrick St. Andrews and Joe Boylan are all expected to join Jenkins' staff.

Ham has been a part of the Milwaukee Bucks for the better part of a decade, first joining Milwaukee's staff as an assistant coach from 2018-22, leaving to be the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers from 2022-24, before rejoining Milwaukee as an assistant coach after being let go by Los Angeles. 

Keeping Ham aboard provides a crucial thread of continuity to ease Jenkins' transition into his new role and keeping someone aboard who already understands the culture of the team and of the locker room will be great for bridging any gaps between Jenkins and his players in the early part of next season. 

Ham is also successful in his own right as a coach. While his time with the Lakers was brief and their playoff runs ultimately unsuccessful, Ham did finish his two seasons with 90-74 head coaching record. 

Patrick St. Andrews is another coach with extensive experience with the Milwaukee Bucks, having been a part of the team's staff from 2018-23, winning a championship alongside Ham in 2021. 

Beyond his experience with the Bucks, though, St. Andrews joining the staff is also a reunion between him and Jenkins. St. Andrews served as one of Jenkins' assistant coaches from 2023-25 when Jenkins was head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies. 

It's yet another example of how familiarity will ease Jenkins' transition into his new role, this time by adding someone who knows he operates to his staff. 

Boylan was also an assistant coach under Jenkins in Memphis during the 2024-25 season, but his career in basketball extends well past that. 

He's been either an assistant coach or worked in player development for four different NBA teams including Memphis, the Golden State Warriors, New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors. 

A common trait that all three of Jenkins' prospective hires have is talent in player development and with the Bucks roster looking like it will trend younger and possibly enter into a rebuild in the future, that culture shift that Jenkins is spearheading could pay huge dividends going forward.
