Who should fans keep an eye on with the Milwaukee Bucks?
The Milwaukee Bucks are set to open their preseason on Monday when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
This will be the first look at the new Bucks, who enter a new era with Giannis Antetokounmpo no longer on the roster.
The Bucks will welcome new faces Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Kasparas Jakucionis from the Miami Heat, who were acquired as part of the Giannis deal. They will also welcome rookies Brayden Burries, who was drafted tenth overall, and Nate Ament, who was drafted thirteenth overall.
With the Bucks stepping on the court for the first time as a new unit, who should fans keep an eye on?
Brayden Burries
Burries was drafted tenth out of Arizona. He was highly touted coming out of college for his three-level scoring, two-way play, and being NBA-ready. Many view him as a potential steal given his scoring and two-way ability.
Buries was impressive in Summer League, averaging 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. This will be Burries’ first taste against an NBA team, and he’ll have his work cut out for him against the Timberwolves’ defense.
He could see Jaden McDaniels and Anthony Edwards at various times, giving him his first “Welcome to the League” moment.

Ament has just as much potential as Burries, but a higher risk of not living up to that potential, as he was more unproven in college.
He had a decent Summer League, highlighted by a 23-point game against the Charlotte Hornets. He’s athletic and projects as a strong driver, but has shown inconsistency, and scouts worry that he doesn’t do one thing quite well enough to stand out.
With it being preseason, Ament and Burries should see plenty of minutes as the team continues to learn what they have in their two lottery picks. Minnesota will present a strong test.
Ryan Rollins
There is reason to be excited for the new players that were acquired from the Miami Heat, but Ryan Rollins could be tabbed as the future of the team coming off his breakout season, and a big season sets him up for a big contract where he’ll be one of the faces of the franchise moving forward.
Rollins will take on a bigger leadership role, and it will be up to him to get everyone involved and set the tone for the new players. How he plays alongside Herro, Jaquez Jr., and Ware will determine the future of the Bucks.
