After the Thanksgiving break, the Chicago Bulls failed to bounce back in Charlotte, falling 123-116 to the Hornets on Friday night and extending their road struggles.
The Bulls (9-9) couldn't overcome a balanced Hornets attack despite strong performances from Coby White and Josh Giddey, who each scored 25 points. Nikola Vucevic added a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds, but Charlotte (5-14) received contributions from multiple sources. Brandon Miller led the way with 27 points, Miles Bridges added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, LaMelo Ball chipped in 16 points with 8 assists, and Collin Sexton came off the bench with 21 points.
Charlotte jumped out to a 5-0 start before Matas Buzelis cut in for a reverse jam to open Chicago's scoring. Kevin Huerter added a cut, but Ryan Kalkbrenner's hammer kept the Hornets ahead by four. White found a driving lane, finishing with a Euro-step layup, then scored a reverse layup from the same wing before the first timeout.
Ayo Dosunmu came off the bench with five straight points to give the Bulls the lead. Charlotte answered with four, including a Kon Knueppel floater and Tre Mann triple. Tre Jones scored a reverse layup for a 24-21 Bulls lead.

Miller fired a three to tie the game, and Moussa Diabate followed with a cut-in dunk. The Hornets immediately launched a 7-0 run capped by Sexton's two free throws. Charlotte then switched to a full-court press, forcing a turnover that Mann converted into a fastbreak layup for a six-point lead. Patrick Williams and Jones piled up five to close the first quarter, trailing 32-29.
Jalen Smith and Huerter combined for four to open the second. White broke through the paint for an and-one, but Ball amazed with back-to-back threes to keep Charlotte ahead by five.
After White was called for a flagrant 1 foul, Diabate hit two free throws. The Hornets then launched a 9-0 run highlighted by Miller's drive, establishing an 11-point lead. The Bulls answered with five from Huerter and Vucevic, and White followed with a fastbreak drive through traffic. But Sion James hit a corner three to keep Charlotte up eight.
After a timeout, Sexton powered in a layup to restore the 10-point lead. Bridges connected with Kalkbrenner on an alley-oop, forcing another Bulls timeout. Chicago scored four quick points on fastbreaks after Charlotte committed consecutive turnovers, but the Hornets regained a double-digit lead. The Bulls rallied behind Vucevic and Jones to cut it to five at halftime.
The Bulls opened the third with five points from Vucevic and Giddey, closing it to two. Miller fired back-to-back threes before White buried a pump-fake three from the right wing — his 1,000th career three-pointer. Giddey followed with another triple, and Vucevic's putback tied it at 78.
Jones and Giddey collaborated for four points, and White managed four points on quick drives to give the Bulls their first lead since the first quarter. White remained hot with another four-point burst. Miller responded with a clutch three. The Bulls led 94-93 entering the fourth.
Both teams traded baskets early in the fourth before Charlotte seized control. Bridges nailed a left-side three to build a seven-point cushion. Sexton crashed the glass for a strong and-one from a second chance, extending the lead to 13 as the Bulls played sloppily on both ends.
Giddey's triple and Jones's fastbreak layup stopped the bleeding. Jones made another steal, and the ensuing possession ended with a three-point foul on Giddey, who hit two of three attempts.
Ball drew a foul and hit one of two free throws, then White broke in and dished out to Vucevic, who drilled a three. White scored on a drive to cut it to four, but Kalkbrenner interfered with his next layup attempt, and Miller scored a fastbreak bucket.
With 1:16 remaining and trailing 112-119, Buzelis missed a corner three. Charlotte grabbed an offensive board and ate clock. Despite pushing late, the Bulls dropped their second straight road game.
