Though the Chicago Bulls have been reshuffled since the trade deadline, the injury crisis has remained constant before the huge roster change, continuing to haunt the team throughout the season's second half.
The Bulls guard Colin Sexton, who suffered a left fibular head contusion, was listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors, per the NBA injury report. The report also listed Patrick Williams as questionable with a left ankle sprain.
Sexton has been on a scorching hot streak over his last four games, averaging 25.0 points, including a 30-point explosion when the Bulls defeated the Phoenix Suns 105-103. Throughout 12 games since joining Chicago, he's averaged 16.2 points and 2.1 assists, providing the instant offense the Bulls desperately needed after their midseason roster overhaul.
The Bulls acquired Sexton, Ousmane Dieng (later traded to the Milwaukee Bucks) and three second-round draft picks from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for guards Coby White and Mike Conley Jr. The 27-year-old point guard entered his eighth NBA season bringing veteran leadership and instant scoring punch off the bench. Before being marked questionable for Tuesday's Warriors matchup, he'd become one of the main offensive forces amid Chicago's persistent injury crisis.

Mandatory Credit: Dennis Lee-Imagn ImagesThe Bulls' injury issues have deepened considerably with Sexton's latest health concern. The team currently has Anfernee Simons sidelined with a wrist fracture and Jaden Ivey out with left patellofemoral issues. Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis and Jalen Smith have also missed games recently, making their original advantage in depth spiral.
On the flipped side, there's one positive injury update simultaneously that Simons, who has been absent since February 21 when the Bulls lost to the Detroit Pistons 126-110, attended the team's shootaround Tuesday morning, per CHSN's K.C. Johnson. His potential return would provide much-needed relief, mitigating Chicago's backcourt shortage while bolstering its offensive firepower.
If head coach Billy Donovan sits Sexton out as a precaution, additional minutes are expected to be distributed among other point guards. Rob Dillingham and two-way reserve Yuki Kawamura appear most likely to absorb the increased workload. Both players have been desperate for opportunities and have showcased the capability to produce high efficiency in limited minutes. Kawamura, particularly, has demonstrated playmaking instincts and energy that energize the second unit whenever he checks in.
The Bulls will need to rely heavily on their organizational depth once again as they navigate this latest injury setback. Chicago visits the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday at 9 p.m. CT, looking to build on recent momentum despite mounting hurdles in terms of injury.
