The Chicago Bulls signed Mac McClung to a deal, league sources told HoopsHype. McClung, a G League MVP and three-time Slam Dunk Contest champion, adds another dynamic scoring option to the organization.

McClung is no stranger to Chicago. He previously signed with the Bulls during the 2021-22 season, initially agreeing to a 10-day contract on December 22, 2021. After signing a second 10-day deal on January 1, 2022, McClung was assigned to the Windy City Bulls, the NBA affiliate, where he debuted with 19 points and nine assists in a loss to the Motor City Cruise. He was recalled to the main roster shortly after on January 6.

As Keith Smith of Spotrac.com confirmed later, the deal was sign-and-waive, which will primarily base McClung with the Windy City Bulls, given Chicago's crowded backcourt. The Bulls currently have at least five players capable of playing point guard, leaving limited roster flexibility at the position. McClung joins Kevin Knox, who the Bulls signed a week prior, with both expected to play for the Windy City Bulls this season.

Don't expect an immediate impact on the NBA roster. With the preseason wrapped up and the regular season less than a week away, McClung's signing appears more strategically aimed at bolstering the G League affiliate than addressing immediate roster needs.

The move reflects the Bulls' ongoing efforts to build depth across their organization. McClung's credentials as a dynamic scorer and proven G League performer make him a valuable asset for the Windy City Bulls, where he can continue developing while remaining available should Chicago need backcourt depth during the regular season.
