Spencer German and Spencer Davies highlight key points from Tuesday's preseason press conference with Koby Altman and Kenny Atkinson in the latest edition of Courtside with Cavs.

Topics of the show include the following:

    • Kenny Atkinson's second season at the Cleveland Cavaliers' helm will start with less stress and travel, as he's got feet on the ground in the city and a clear mind. It's allowed him to dig deep into the film and visualize what combinations will work together and new tweaks that can potentially work.
    • The Cavs agreed to a one-year contract with former Indiana Pacers big man Thomas Bryant on Tuesday shortly after the press conference wrapped. What will Bryant bring to the table for the wine-and-gold? What does that depth mean for the center room? Also, a quick talk on the addition of Killian Hayes to the training camp roster.
    • Atkinson and Koby Altman spoke glowingly of De'Andre Hunter's potential with this team. Similar to Cleveland's head coach, Hunter is comfortable and beginning training camp finally settled in. Atkinson spoke of his relationship building with the veteran forward and how important that piece of it is. Tactically, it should look solid.
    • Darius Garland is set to return to basketball activities already, but he will be limited in what he's able to do. Still, the fact that he's already on his feet is a great sign for both him and the Cavs. What does the timetable look like? What should we expect?
    • It was intriguing how Altman went out of his way to praise Cleveland's Core Four and how this version of the group will be spearheading the attack for years to come. He referred to it as "multiple bites of the apple." Listening to the words themselves, it may be wise to read the tea leaves around the fourth member of that core, Jarrett Allen.
