Former Cavaliers Wing Iman Shumpert Calls Out Kevin Durant: 'You the Reason'

Former Cleveland Cavaliers wing Iman Shumpert called out Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant for signing with the Golden State Warriors in the summer of 2016.

"You the reason I missed out on two rings dog. It was your fault," Shumpert said during an appearance on Gil's Arena.

After the Cavaliers beat the 73-9 Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals, becoming the first team in NBA history to erase a 3-1 series deficit in the NBA Finals, Golden State signed Durant in free agency.

The Warriors, who already had Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala, became a cheat code with Durant. They beat the Cavaliers in the 2017 and 2018 NBA Finals, with Durant winning back-to-back Finals MVPs.

Durant's OKC Thunder had a 3-1 series lead against the Warriors in the 2016 Western Conference Finals. The Thunder lost that series in seven games and then Durant joined Golden State. It's considered the weakest move in NBA history.

Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cavaliers in the summer of 2017 and was traded to the Boston Celtics, while LeBron James left Cleveland for the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2018.

Shumpert played in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 NBA Finals with the Cavaliers, who went 1-2 against the Warriors. Cleveland traded Shumpert to the Sacramento Kings at the 2018 NBA trade deadline.

Many people thought LeBron would return to the Cavaliers this summer after leaving the Lakers. However, the NBA legend signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

It's too bad we won't get to see LeBron play for Cleveland again. The King said the 76ers will be his last stop in the NBA.

"This is my last decision," LeBron wrote on social media. "I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship.

“I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time. Thank you LA. Miami I’ll forever love and Northeast Ohio will always home!”
