Jaylon Tyson's professionalism as a second-year player for the Cleveland Cavaliers is a huge reason why he's been so consistently successful this year.

Cleveland Cavaliers second-year swingman Jaylon Tyson has had to buy into a different role since the trade deadline, but any time the team has needed him to do more, he has responded loudly.

The Cleveland Cavaliers can't ask much more of Jaylon Tyson the rest of the season until the playoffs come. He has been everything the team has hoped for and more, putting on consistent defensive performances, hitting shots, taking the right looks, and making things happen out of the short roll.

Tyson has seen his role scaled back, fair or not, with the acquisitions of James Harden, Dennis Schroder, and Keon Ellis, but he has done everything the coaching staff has asked of him to help impact winning basketball.

And when Cleveland has been shorthanded or needed an extra boost, the talented forward has been able to go right back to his higher-usage ways before the trades.

In the latest episode of Courtside with Cavs, Spencer German and I discussed Tyson's professionalism and abilities:

"Jaylon's just been a revelation all year. I think it's really difficult when you have a game like you did a month-and-a-half ago in Philly, and you are essentially given the keys to the car other than Donovan [Mitchell]. You're the guy who's playmaking, making sure everyone's getting involved, and basically the on-ball rep guy.

"Then, James Harden comes along, and it's, 'Okay, you've got to step back.' You go from the starting lineup to, when fully healthy, probably the seventh or eighth guy on the team. That is hard to do. The fact that he's been able to toggle those roles is remarkable."

The Cavs have the next three days off for rest and practice before hosting the Boston Celtics in a highly anticipated matinee affair at Rocket Arena. Cleveland will welcome the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, on the second night of a back-to-back, then hit the road to face the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
