Neemias Queta, Baylor Scheierman and Mitchell Robinson crashed the boards for Boston in their win against the Bucks.
The Boston Celtics improved to 6-2 on the season and maintained its hold as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 109-102 win against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday at TD Garden in Boston.
The Celtics earned the win against their Eastern Conference rivals despite being without franchise superstar Jayson Tatum, who was out of the game due to a scheduled rest.
Multi-time NBA All-star and all-defensive wing Paul George led Boston on the scoring front and put up a team-high 25 points to go with five assists, four steals and three rebounds in the victory. However, the team saw multiple contributors when it came to rebounding, as well.
Boston's post and frontcourt players crashed the boards hard in the victory, and as such accomplished a rare feat.
Center Neemias Queta finished with nine points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks; shooting guard Baylor Scheierman finished with nine points, 11 boards, an assist and a steal and center Mitchell Robinson contributed three points, 10 rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal.
According to a post shared on "X" by the Celtics official account, it marked the first time since Dec. 15, 2024, that three separate players had at least 10 rebounds for the team.
The trio of players had different roles on the team going into season, but combined to highlight the depth and the variety of contributions Boston can receive up and down the roster.
Queta had the best season of his professional career last year. He played in 76 contests and started 75 and earned a four-year, $56 million contract, which will keep him with the team through the 2030-31 season.
Robinson was signed by the Celtics on a three-year, $47.4 million deal after he won an NBA championship with the New York Knicks.
Scheierman has been with Boston since being selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He spent his rookie year up-and-down between the Celtics NBA roster and with their G-League affiliate, the Maine Celtics. In his second year last season, Scheierman carved out a spot on the team as a role player off the bench. He played in 77 games, started 20 and averaged 18.1 minutes per contest.
The win against Milwaukee marked the first of a five-game stretch against Eastern Conference opponents for Boston. They'll next play the Charlotte Hornets on the road in an NBA Cup group stage game Nov. 6; the Bucks on the road Nov. 8; the Philadelphia 76ers on the road Nov. 10 and the Toronto Raptors on the road Nov. 11.
