The former C's big man certainly stirred the pot on Monday.

Former Boston Celtics big man and current Celtics television Brian Scalabrine certainly stirred the pot on Monday morning when he said that former C's guard Jaylen Brown was actually the one that asked to be traded this past summer.

However, by Monday night, Scalabrine had walked back his comments, saying that Brown didn't directly ask for a trade. Rather, he went to the front office with a list of demands. Essentially, he put the Celtics in a position to make a choice, one that they made by dealing him to the Philadelphia 76ers. Scalabrine also indicated that he still thinks the trade came about as a result of financial reasons, not because of Brown's demands.

Either way, it was a 180 from earlier in the day and it was just the latest in the ongoing saga of Brown vs. the Celtics vs. Jayson Tatum.

I'll be honest, I thought this story was going to die down for a bit until the two teams play each other on Nov. 10, but it seems to just keep picking up steam.

About Scalabrine

Now 48 years old, Scalabrine was an 11-year veteran of the New Jersey Nets, Celtics and Chicago Bulls. He appeared in 520 games over those 11 years, averaging 3.1 ppg and 2.0 rebounds. He was with the Celtics in 2007-08 when they won the championship, though he did not appear in the playoff run. He did play in the playoffs in five separate seasons though.

He's become a popular analyst on NBC Sports Boston and also hosts shows on Sirius XM NBA Radio, which is where he made his initial comments about the Brown trade.

As for the Celtics...

The Celtics moved to 2-1 on Monday night with a dominant 134-99 win over the Bulls at TD Garden. Boston outscored Chicago by 18 points in the third quarter to help pull away. The Bulls are now 1-3.

Payton Pritchard led the way for Boston, scoring 28 points in just 22 minutes. He was 7-of-10 from 3-point range. Tatum also played well, going for 23 points in 28 minutes. Paul George (16), Sam Hauser (11) and Hugo Gonzalez (13) also scored in double-figures.

Speaking of Pritchard, we learned of some recent praise that he got from an NBA legend.

The Celtics are back in action on Tuesday night for the back end of a back-to-back. They'll play the Brooklyn Nets.
