The Celtics star is not going to be dragged into the public war of words with his former teammate.

Well, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum is apparently going to keep taking the high road when it comes to the apparent conflict with former teammate Jaylen Brown.

Speaking after Friday's 107-103 win over the New York Knicks, Tatum made it clear that he has no ill-will toward Brown and that the conversation should continue to be about all they accomplished together in nine years as teammates, and not about their breakup.

He also said that he's willing to have a conversation with Brown and that he thinks not enough communication happens in the world in general.

But the overall theme of Tatum's comments? He's simply too old for this drama to play out in this way.

After all, he said that he thinks the pair is too old for their relationship to be discussed on the internet. And he added that he has two kids, essentially saying that he has a different perspective on life and that he's just not interested in having a public battle on this topic.

As a result, as much as people want this topic to live on, I think it's going to fizzle out - at least until the two play each other for the first of four times this season. Brown has made his point, and I think he'll stop talking about it now. Tatum has made his stance clear, and that will stop it from his side.

But that doesn't mean that sports talk radio everywhere will stop talking about it. They'll continue to have a field day with it.

When do the Celtics and 76ers play this season?

1) The first regular season contest will come on Nov. 10 in Philadelphia at 8:00 p.m. ET.

2) The next regular season game will wait until Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET in Boston. That will be Brown's first game back in the regular season since the trade. While I'm sure that Brown will get a rousing ovation overall, it will be interesting to see how many fans are turned off by this recent episode in the saga.

3) They'll meet again in Philadelphia on Feb. 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

4) They'll play in Boston again on March 7 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Of course, the two teams could also meet in the playoffs like they did a season ago. The 76ers beat the Celtics in seven games in the Eastern Conference first round, despite the Celtics being the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.
