Following the conclusion of the preseason, the Celtics made a handful of moves to complete their roster.

Early on Saturday, the Boston Celtics elected to keep former lottery pick Devin Carter on their roster by giving him the team's last two-way contract spot.

Later on Saturday, the Celtics made multiple other moves, waiving Tucker DeVries, Hayden Gray, Gabe McClothan and Milos Uzan. That comes from Keith Smith of Spotrac. There is certainly a chance that any or all of these players could land with the G-League Celtics in the future.

DeVries played at three different colleges in five years, just wrapping up his collegiate career in 2025-26. The guard played 104 games for Drake from 2021-24 before playing eight games at West Virginia in 2024-25. He finished up at Indiana last season, starting 32 games for the Hoosiers.

For his college career, he scored 16.8 ppg, including 13.7 a game at Indiana, proving he was capable of scoring in a league as solid as the Big Ten.

He was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year at Drake, as well as the league's Rookie of the Year in 2021-22.

He also appeared with the Celtics in the Vegas Summer League. He was on an Exhibit 10 contract.

As for Uzan, he spent two years at Oklahoma and two years at Houston, where he played with Celtics' recent first-round draft choice Chris Cenac Jr. Listed at 6-foot-4, he started 133 of 141 career college games, including each game of the last three seasons. He scored 9.9 ppg and shot 36.4 percent from beyond-the-arc. Houston has turned into one of the top programs in the country under head coach Kevin Sampson.

Gray is a California native who played his college basketball at UC San Diego. Last year, he appeared in one game in the NBA with the Utah Jazz, playing 25 minutes and scoring six points. He's a 6-foot-4 guard.

Up next for the Celtics

Boston will take a few days off to get things fully in order, and then it's onto the regular season. The C's will take on the Detroit Pistons on Opening Day (Tuesday) at 3 p.m. ET. While the mid-week afternoon game time is odd, it's likely a way for the league to turn Opening Day into a basically all day affair.

It should be a good matchup as well. The Pistons earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs last season while the Celtics were the No. 2. Both teams figure to be good again this year.
