Brown wouldn't give much on what bothered him about his exit from the Celtics on Thursday, but Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe had a little more.
Speaking with the media on Thursday at his introductory press conference with the Philadelphia 76ers, Jaylen Brown elected not to open up too much on his departure from the Boston Celtics, instead choosing to keep his eyes focused on the future with the 76ers, which appears very bright.
With Brown, Tyrese Maxey, and LeBron James in the fold, the 76ers are certainly one of the favorites to come out of a talented Eastern Conference.
However, after the press conference was over, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe had more to say on Brown's frustrations with his Celtics exit, with some of his comments seeming to straddle the line between reporting and speculation.
Essentially, Washburn said that Brown was amenable to being in trade conversations surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo early in the offseason, and it seems as if Brown felt good about the communication initially.
However, once those trade talks broke down, Washburn insinuates that Brown might not have been happy at what transpired next, which was his name and character being dragged through the mud as other trade rumors developed.
Of course, Brown was owed more respect than seeing his name thrown about social media and the internet sphere. A decade-long Celtic, he's one of the best Celtics of the last quarter century, and his resume commands respect.
The Celtics could have kept the conversation going with Brown, letting him know how they were feeling and what the plan was.
It sounds as if, after the initial breakdown of trade talks with Milwaukee, that communication didn't happen at all - or at the level that he really wanted or thought he was owed.

From a team perspective, the Celtics were listed in a four-way tie for Eastern Conference's fifth-best roster on the new NBA 2K27 video game, which likely disappoints fans who want to see the team compete for another NBA title.
And from a player perspective, C's fans are likely to be disappointed as well.
Why?
Because Brown is rated one spot higher than Jayson Tatum, who the Celtics have kept and elected to fully build the franchise around.
Brown was given a 95 overall ranking, same as Steph Curry, Kawhi Leonard and Cade Cunningham.
Tatum, now fully back after playing just 16 games last season because of a torn Achilles, is rated as a 93, putting him on par with Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell, Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Booker and Tyrese Maxey.
