The Los Angeles Clippers made a late-offseason move by bringing in Jalen Pickett, who showed promise last season with the Denver Nuggets after averaging career-highs in points, rebounds and assists per game, aided by his increased usage brief appearances in the starting lineup with the amount of injuries that the Nuggets suffered. 

But by bringing in one promising guard, the Clippers had to part ways with another to make space and waived two-way guard Sean Pedulla, despite encouraging appearances in Summer League and a standout performance in the G-League last season for the San Diego Clippers. 

Pedulla won G-League Rookie of the Year last season, averaging 23.6 points, 6.8 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists, and with the youth movement that the Clippers have been moving toward amidst their rebuild, it looked like Pedulla was going to be yet another vital piece in the foundation of what Los Angeles was building. 

But the Clippers went with experience over potential with Pickett, and with players like Jordan Miller and Kobe Sanders already having proven themselves and risen up from the G-League, the Clippers clearly felt comfortable enough with the young guard core that they already had to waive Pedulla. 

With the potential that he still has at just 23-years-old, and the way that he impressed during Summer League with 13.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 35.7% from the field, Pedulla still has a good chance at finding his way onto another roster, either in the NBA or G-League, before the season begins. 

The Clippers are looking mostly complete and have now reached the supplemental move stage of the offseason, evidenced by their signing of Pickett, and now don't have to do much else to try and round out their revamped roster before the season begins and they take the team for a test ride. 

They are still involved in conversations around a possible sign-and-trade for Peyton Watson, which would likely be the last significant move that they make for the offseason, but beyond that the pursuit the Clippers are in the fine-tuning stage of their rebuild and making cuts, like Pedulla, as their preferred roster takes it's final shape. 

With an abundance of options ahead of them when it comes to talented young players, especially talented young guards, the Clippers are spoiled for choice on how to round out their roster and Pedulla simply wasn't one of those choices.
