Last season, the Los Angeles Clippers signed guard TyTy Washington Jr. to the roster on a training camp deal in October of 2025. Washington stuck around with the organization before his deal was converted to a two-way contract in December of that year. 

He ended up staying with the roster and spent much of his time playing with the Clippers G-League affiliate team, the San Diego Clippers. This past season with San Diego, he finished the year averaging 17.9 points per game, 4.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists. 

He also showed he can be a reliable shooter from deep as he shot 41.1 percent from three-point range. Washington went on to appear in 16 regular-season games for the Los Angeles Clippers where he didn't see the floor much as he only averaged 5.5 minutes per game. 

Now, Washington seems to be making a big pivot in his basketball career, and could be on his way to playing overseas basketball. According to BasketNews, Washington is in advanced talks to be playing with ASVEL Villeurbanne, a French club that former NBA player Tony Parker will be head coaching. 

Parker is entering his first season coaching the team, and adding a player like TyTy Washington Jr. could be a big move, considering his age and how much ability he has to offer. 

TyTy Washington has a chance to reinvent his career by playing overseas. When looking at his career trajectory, he has been with a different franchise in each of his first four seasons in the NBA. 

He was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies, who traded his draft rights to the Houston Rockets, and from there spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns before landing with the Clippers. 

Washington could be in a position where he's looking for stability, and ASVEL Villeurbanne could offer that for him. If he can find his footing outside of the NBA, he could find his way back in the near future. 

At the University of Kentucky, Washington looked like an explosive offensive player because of his ball handling and shot creating ability. He was also a reliable playmaker for the Wildcats and once put up 17 points to go along with 17 assists, making that a school record. 

At 24 years old, Washington could be looking to prove his worth once more, and he has a chance to redeem himself after a chaotic NBA stint.
