The Grizzlies open the 2026-27 season against Utah, host Ja Morant and the Portland Trail Blazers on national TV, and play a record eight-game homestand in February.
The Memphis Grizzlies will see Jaren Jackson Jr. on opening night.
Memphis starts the 2026-27 season at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 21, against Utah at FedExForum. Jackson went to the Jazz on Feb. 3 in the eight-player trade that also sent John Konchar, Jock Landale, and Vince Williams Jr. to Utah.
The Grizzlies received Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang, and three future first-round picks. Jackson played three games for the Jazz before undergoing surgery over the All-Star break to remove a growth in his left knee.
Four road games follow the opener. Memphis visits Golden State on Oct. 23, Sacramento, Utah, and Portland by Oct. 29, giving the Grizzlies their longest road trip of the season during the first week.

Ja Morant Returns Feb. 6
Only two Memphis games were assigned to national broadcast partners.
The first is the franchise's 24th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration Game. Memphis hosts the Houston Rockets at 6:30 p.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 18, on Peacock.
The other brings Ja Morant back to FedExForum.
Portland visits Memphis at 4:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 6, on Amazon Prime. The Trail Blazers acquired Morant in June for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray.
The teams play again in Memphis two nights later.
Those Portland games fall in the middle of an eight-game homestand from Feb. 3-18, the longest of the Memphis era. It starts against the Philadelphia 76ers and LeBron James on Feb. 3.
Portland follows on Feb. 6 and Feb. 8. Orlando visits Feb. 10, followed by the LA Clippers on Feb. 12, New York on Feb. 15, San Antonio on Feb. 17, and Boston on Feb. 18.
NBA Cup Opens Against Oklahoma City
Emirates NBA Cup play starts Nov. 6 at FedExForum against Oklahoma City.
Memphis goes to New Orleans on Nov. 13, hosts the LA Clippers on Nov. 25, and plays at Minnesota on Nov. 27.
Dates and opponents are set for 80 of the Grizzlies' 82 games. The other two will depend on NBA Cup results and fall between Dec. 4 and Dec. 10.
By the time the knockout rounds begin Dec. 4, Memphis will have played 23 games. The championship is Dec. 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Grizzlies have 58 games before the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 21 in Phoenix. Their first game after the break is Feb. 26 against San Antonio at the Moody Center in Austin.
There are 13 back-to-back sets on the schedule. Three do not require travel.
Memphis also has 14 weekend home dates, with three on Friday, eight on Saturday, and three on Sunday. The estimated travel total for the season is 46,000 miles.
Grizzlies Finish With Two on the Road
Atlanta comes to FedExForum on March 8. Oklahoma City visits March 20, followed by the Los Angeles Lakers on March 30.
The final two home dates are Detroit on April 6 and Washington on April 7.
After that, the Grizzlies leave Memphis for the rest of the regular season. Their finale is Sunday, April 11, against the Dallas Mavericks.
Memphis went 25-57 last season in Tuomas Iisalo's first full season as coach.
The roster has changed considerably since then. Desmond Bane went to Orlando in June 2025, Jackson was traded in February, and Morant left in June.
The Grizzlies used the third overall pick in the 2026 draft on Cameron Boozer. Zach Edey, Cedric Coward, and Jaylen Wells are among the other young players remaining.
As of Aug. 5, Memphis had 19 players on standard contracts. That number has to be down to 15 by the start of the regular season.
Before Utah comes to town, Memphis has four preseason games. The Grizzlies open Oct. 5 at Atlanta, host Orlando on Oct. 7, visit Chicago on Oct. 9, and finish against Charlotte at FedExForum on Oct. 16.
Single-game tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The MVPs presale begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, with an eight-ticket limit per game.
Memphis will announce its local and regional television, radio, and promotional schedules later.
