Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins chimes in on the chances of LeBron James pairing with newly acquired superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in Miami after a potential YouTube leak.

The Miami Heat are having a franchise-changing offseason thus far. They acquired two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo earlier this offseason to cap off multiple years of the team whiffing on star-level talent. Heat president Pat Riley has been reluctant to part with the team's young talent in the past but for Antetokounmpo, he dealt multiple young pieces of the roster including Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kasparas Jakucionis.

Now, the Heat are potentially looking to add another star to the lineup in LeBron James, who had a prominent tenure with the team for the early part of the 2010s. During that era, the Heat were the juggernaut of the entire NBA, let alone just the Eastern Conference. With the "Big Three" of James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, the sky was the limit for that unit. During the four-season stretch with the three superstars, the team went to the NBA Finals every year and won two NBA championships.

James is leaving the Lakers after eight seasons and is looking for a team during the twilight of his iconic career, even reportedly content with taking a minimum contract. The Heat are one of the favorites to land him along with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers.

On Wednesday morning, the Heat's YouTube page seemingly leaked a future James introductory press conference and many people are buying into the idea of the future Hall of Famer returning to the franchise.

During Wednesday's edition of First Take, former player Kendrick Perkins shared his thoughts on the situation.

"This is something," the 2008 NBA champion said. "This wasn’t leaked by accident. Those things don’t just happen under Pat Riley’s watch. This means Miami is really in the hunt, in this thick of this.. I’m not going to sit here and act like it’s nothing. This is actually the first real big clue that we’ve been able to see from an organization that LeBron James has interest in.”

Perkins was with the Oklahoma City Thunder during the early part of the 2010s, when the Heat were the cross-conference rival of the franchise. The Heat beat the Thunder in five games in the 2012 NBA Finals.

This is shaping up to be either a major mistake by the Heat's social media team or could be part of a publicity stunt to generate buzz. In fact, the Heat recently posted a job listing on LinkedIn to find a new Director in Youtube Strategy.

James is expected to come to a decision fairly soon although his agent, Rich Paul, is remaining in the dark on where James will end up next season. It might possibly be his last season as an NBA player and the Heat could be a good team for him to rejoin if he wants to hunt for a championship once again.
