The Miami Heat could have a new starting lineup if they are able to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo during free agency

The Miami Heat have utilized a "run-it-back" mentality for the past few seasons.

That means they have had mostly the same roster, which upset a lot of fans because wanted team president Pat Riley to switch things up. This summer could finally be the year the Heat make drastic changes.

It starts with their pursuit of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo during free agency. If they are able to pull it off, it would start a domino effect in terms of change.

A trade for Antetokounmpo would almost certainly involve moving center Kel'el Ware, forward Jaime Jaquez and guard Tyler Herro. It would leave the Heat with a starting lineup that consists of:

At least one NBA media personality is digging this lineup. YouTuber and sports analyst Kenny Beecham thinks the Heat could be a top three seed in the Eastern Conference with that group.

“That ain’t the worst starting lineup in the league," Beecham said on the Not On The Board podcast "… I think that team could be good enough to be a top 3 seed out East. I don’t think they’re better than the Pacers. I think they could win more games in the regular season than the Pacers but I don’t know if they’ll be better.”

Beecham is right. The Heat could field a lineup that includes a two-time MVP and NBA champion (Antetokounmpo), a three-time All-Star (Adebayo), a one-time All-Star (Powell) and a defensive-minded point guard (Mitchell). They would also have the likes of Nikola Jovic and Pelle Larsson coming off the bench.

This puts the Heat in position to compete with some of the top teams in the East, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.

The Heat have to give up a lot for Antetokounmpo but it may be worth the price.
