The Sacramento Kings have gone 37 straight days without a win.
Is Monday's game at the FedEx Forum finally the night the losing skid snaps?
NBC Sports California will air Kings at the Memphis Grizzlies set for 5 p.m. PT. FanDuel Sports Network Midwest and Southwest also will carry the game. Fans with no access to both can turn to NBA League Pass -- with options like the no-commercial premium ($114.99) and standard ($79 featuring commercials) available.
But again...is this the night the Kings finally end the skid?
Unfortunately for Kings fans itching to see the slide end, FanDuel Sportsbook isn't giving Sacramento much hope. However, Memphis is only a slight favorite here -- at three-points.
Memphis is dealing with its own tensions. Already the Grizzlies shipped away past star Jaren Jackson Jr. in a major eight-player deal that went down on Feb. 3 -- two days before the NBA Trade Deadline ended.
Furthermore, longtime franchise face Ja Morant rose as the subject of trade rumors. Morant's name even got linked to the Kings in a proposed deal that many fans started to project. General manager Scott Perry never made the decision to pull in Morant, though. Instead he added De'Andre Hunter via the Cleveland Cavaliers in a deal that sent Keon Ellis/Dennis Schroeder to the latter team.
But that Hunter deal is looking botched -- as he'll sit out the rest of the season with an eye inflammation condition. Sacramento is also already missing Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine for the rest of the season, as both underwent season-ending surgeries that canned their 2025-26.
Two to three seasons ago Sacramento versus Memphis would've sounded like a first round matchup in the Western Conference Playoffs. Both once became established playoff contenders before a roster blow up took place.
Now both look like strong contenders to land an NBA Draft Lottery pick once the selections are made on May 10. Sacramento remains the strongest contender to land the top spot -- which has fans thinking about BYU's AJ Dybantsa landing with the Kings. Though Cam Boozer of Duke boosted his stock on Saturday by toppling Michigan.
Back to the slide, Sacramento isn't close to the NBA record for longest losing streak at 28 games. Monday presents its best chance at ending it. But the Kings' lack of depth including not having Dylan Cardwell off the bench swings the advantage toward Memphis.
