The Sacramento Kings enter Friday on a surge.
Despite the 11-30 record, fans are looking more at the last three results -- all upsets on the Kings' side.
Sacramento just took down one of the league's best in the New York Knicks. Now they take on one of the east's worst in the Washington Wizards.
Do the bets favor the Kings here? Here's Fernie Ruano with the betting preview:
No need to schedule an appointment with your ophthalmologist right this very second as the ‘red-hot’ Kings (11-30, 14th in the Western Conference) will be in an unfamiliar position when they host the Washington Wizards (10-29, 14th in the Eastern Conference) in a 10:00 p.m. (ET) tipoff on Friday night in Sacramento, California.
The Kings, a rare and whooping -270 on the moneyline, are 6.5-point home favorites to score their fourth straight win after snapping a seven-game losing streak earlier this week against the Houston Rockets.
The over/under is 232 (o, -110, u -110).
Sacramento, coming off a 112-101 victory over the New York Knicks, as 11.5-point underdogs and a +375 choice on the moneyline,,no less, is 3-7 overall in their last 10 games and 4-6 against the spread.
The Kings, 8-12-1 against the spread at home, are 8-13 at the Golden 1 Center this season.
However, star forward/center Domantas Sabonis, who missed has missed 27 games after tearing a meniscus in his right knee, is listed as questionable for tonight’s game.
Sacramento is 7-0-1 against the spread and 5-3-1 overall when scoring more than 123.9 points.
Washington (+230), 4-6 in their last 10 games and with just 15 wins against the spread this season, is coming off a 128-126 win over the Utah Jazz.
The Wizards, playing their third of a four-game road trip out to the left coast and on the frontend of back-to-back spot vs. the Kings, are 4-15 on the road this season.
Zach LaVine, who recently missed nine games with an ankle injury, is scoring 20.0 points per game for the Kings.
CJ McCollum, who has played in 35 games at 30.9 minutes a night, is averaging a team-leading 18.8 points per game for the Wizards.
Wizards vs. Kings betting analysis:
The Wizards, who opened as a 7.5-point ‘dog, have taken a little money this afternoon, which is odd considering the Kings, coming off wins over the Lakers and Knicks, are the ‘hotter’ team right now.
And the Wizards, for all their faults, are 5-5 in their last 10 games overall and a respectable 2-3 in their last games on the road.
As for Sacramento, playing their fourth of seven straight games at the Golden 1 Center, please take into account that the Kings just defeated two teams that are currently struggling in the Lakers and Knicks, who have lost seven of nine games, if you add their defeat to the Golden State Warriors last night.
So, hand me a nose clip, after giving me the +6.5/+7 with the Kings.
