Los Angeles Lakers Could Be Without Key Reserve Against Charlotte Hornets cover image

LeBron James and Luka Doncic are good to go for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Charlotte Hornets, but LA could be without a key reserve.

The Los Angeles Lakers look to remain hot as they welcome the Charlotte Hornets to Crypto.com Arena on Thursday night. 

The Lakers are coming off a 141-116 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, which snapped a three-game losing streak for the team. LeBron James had 31 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds in the contest. Luka Doncic finished with 27 points and 12 assists. 

The Hornets have lost three of their last four, dropping their latest game to the Los Angeles Clippers, 117-109. LaMelo Ball led the Hornets with 25 points in the contest. 

The Lakers won their only other meeting this season, a 121-111 victory in Charlotte on November 10th. 

Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report

LeBron James and Luka Doncic are good to go for the Lakers, but Austin Reaves remains OUT. 

Reaves has been sidelined since Christmas Day with a Grade 2 left gastrocnemius strain. He is set to be re-evaluated in four weeks from the time of his injury. 

Backup big man Jaxson Hayes is listed as QUESTIONABLE with left hamstring soreness. Hayes missed the game against the Hawks, just his sixth missed game of the season. 

Hayes has played in 32 contests for the Lakers this year, starting in four of them. He is averaging 6.3 points, shooting a career high 76% from the field, and grabbing four rebounds in 17.6 minutes per game. 

Adou Thiero remains OUT for the Lakers with a right MCL sprain. He's been out since December 30th and will miss at least four weeks from the time of his injury. He's appeared in 15 games this season, averaging less than six minutes off the bench. 

Charlotte Hornets Injury Report

The Hornets could be without their starting center as Moussa Diabaté is listed as QUESTIONABLE with right hip soreness. Diabate has missed just three games this year. He played in their last game against the Clippers and has started in their last nine contests. 

In those nine games, Diabate is averaging 9.3 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks. 

Collin Sexton is also on the injury report as QUESTIONABLE with left hamstring soreness. He missed the game against the Clippers. In 31 games, Sexton is scoring 15.2 points and dishing 4.1 assists per game. 

Mason Plumlee (right groin surgery) remains OUT. He's been out since December 22 and is set to be reevaluated six weeks at the time of his injury announcement. 

Liam McNeeley (G-League assignment), Antonio Reeves (G-League), and KJ Simpson (G-League) are all also OUT.

Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. EST at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
