Orlando’s sloppy turnover troubles and Paolo Banchero’s shooting slump fueled a double-digit loss, prompting Jase Richardson to demand more physicality and poise before the regular season begins.

The Orlando Magic lost their second preseason game, falling 119-105 to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday in Cleveland.

It was far from a clean performance for Orlando, which committed 18 turnovers and showed little of the progression it made in its preseason opener against the Memphis Grizzlies. Paolo Banchero’s early preseason struggles continued as he shot 1-for-10 from the field and committed three turnovers in just 17 minutes. Meanwhile, James Harden caught fire in his preseason debut, scoring 24 points for Cleveland.

The Magic have two preseason games remaining, beginning with a rematch against Cleveland at home Tuesday. Orlando will have another opportunity to get back on the court, address its mistakes and push for a victory.

Following the loss, second-year guard Jase Richardson met with the media to discuss the team’s performance and areas for improvement. He emphasized the need for greater physicality, particularly when boxing out in the paint, and more aggression on offense. Richardson also acknowledged his own need to execute more efficiently and play with greater poise in high-pressure situations.
