The Dallas Mavericks are expected to trade Anthony Davis before the February deadline, and these two teams stand out as new landing spots.

The Dallas Mavericks have been rumored to be shopping Anthony Davis since the season began. Less than a year after they sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in a win-now deal, the Mavericks are poised to part with the key return for their franchise centerpiece.

The Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, and Atlanta Hawks have all been listed by insiders as possible Davis landing spots. When he's healthy, he remains one of the top players in the entire NBA. However, his durability concerns have tanked his trade value.

Two underperfomring win-now teams have also recenlty been linked to Davis.

Bucks and Clippers Emerge as Landing Spots

Despite employing Giannis Antetokounmpo, Myles Turner, Kawhi Leonard, and James Harden, the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers are both well below .500.

The Clippers don't have any noteworthy young players or assets to build around, and Antetokounmpo's patience seems to be wearing thin in Milwaukee. Davis could, in theory, help turn either team's season around, although neither team is operating with a clear mind.

"You've got to look at teams that are desperate to win and underperforming and can bundle some expiring salary," prefaced Zach Lowe on his podcast. "I'd look at the Bucks, and I'd look at the Clippers for Anthony Davis."

Now, neither team can offer the future-driven haul the Mavericks would covet, although Milwaukee's Ryan Rollins has broken out as a great point guard and could be a long-term pairing next to Cooper Flagg. However, it remains to be seen if the Bucks will entertain giving him up.

This summer, the Clippers added Brook Lopez and the Bucks added Myles Turner. Turner has been solid and, critically, durable. Davis is not, so Milwaukee is a head-scratching landing spot.

Davis, like Trae Young, makes sense for the Clippers only as a stopgap to keep them afloat until they are done owing the OKC Thunder draft picks. After that, the Clippers need a hard reset and rebuild, although they don't have the ammunition to execute just yet.

While the Bucks and Clippers might want to add Davis, the Mavericks should have better offers on the table, including keeping Davis on the roster.
