The Los Angeles Lakers extended their New York stay and will head to Barclays. Which could also mark the end of an era involving LeBron James.
LeBron James may have played his final game inside the historic Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Will Tuesday's contest against the Brooklyn Nets become his final appearance inside the Barclays Center?
The Los Angeles Lakers complete their New York rounds by taking on the Nets for a 7:30 p.m. ET showdown.
That contest will be aired on the east coast via the YES Network as the flagship home of Nets basketball.
Fans out west, however, have Spectrum SportsNet to turn to -- as Spectrum is the home of all things Lakers.
The final option for fans who don't have access to both networks is NBA League Pass. Premium hands fans no commercials and more in-arena access at $114.99. Standard is offered at a cheaper $79.99 but with commercials.
Again, the four-time NBA Finals champion and revered league legend James appears to be on a farewell tour.
Rumors have swirled that the 41-year-old is toying with the idea of making this his last season. Though it's not yet confirmed that James indeed is on his final victory lap.
If this is it, Tuesday will mark the final time the NBA legend will shoot hoops inside the arena that first opened its doors in Sept. 2012. He's best known inside Barclays for dropping 40 points during a March 2024 game while with the Lakers. But he also scored his 30,000th career basket in Feb. 2018 during a time he led the Cleveland Cavaliers.
His team and Brooklyn are going in opposite directions. The latter is especially rising as a potential player late in the NBA trade market.
Leading scorer Michael Porter Jr. remains a hot topic ahead of Thursday's deadline. However, MPJ trade chatter is starting to simmer across the league.
Porter's asking price for the Golden State Warriors placed a wrench in those proposed trade talks. Brooklyn also looks out on landing Giannis Antetokounmpo via the Milwaukee Bucks. Lastly, the Toronto Raptors surfaced late for Day'Ron Sharpe on Monday night.
The Lakers with James are simply built for one more playoff run. Especially before he hands the leadership mantle over to Luka Doncic. Brooklyn appears ready to either blow up the roster or simply roll with a younger lineup after this season. All the more reason why fans will bet on the Lakers here.
FanDuel Sportsbook places the Lakers as the 8.5-point favorite here. But we're thinking L.A. will surpass the cover.
