Is the lead scorer of the Brooklyn Nets and one of the elder statesmen of the team growing frustrated with the losing? Or growing more optimistic?

Michael Porter Jr. came to the Brooklyn Nets with championship experience in tow.

MPJ's situation is far different compared to 2023 in Denver. He's now the lead scorer, but playing with as many five rookies.

And the losses have piled up following his July 2025 trade from the Nuggets.

Many fans will believe the stack of losses will weigh heavy on someone with a title ring. Others gain the belief a veteran like Porter grows impatient with the process amid the losses.

Porter addressed the situation he's in with Brooklyn during his appearance on "The Old Man and The Three" podcast hosted by his former Nuggets teammate Cam Johnson.

Porter aired his true feelings about the Nets' future -- yet his answers will get Brooklyn fans intrigued.

"I think that we are on the right path to being a good team," Porter said to Johnson. "We're the youngest team in the league. They got a lot of money over there to spend, and they got the most picks. We're looking at a high draft pick this next season. So I understand the vision of the organization."

Even Porter admits to humbling himself about the process.

"Sometimes I have to remind myself of that, because I've just won a lot of basketball games, and it can be tough because I wanna play winning basketball and compete," Porter said.

Porter knows the process well especially with taking care of the mind, body and soul.

"If I'm putting my body through all this recovery, all this work, I wanna see the W at the end of the day," he said. "But we are building something, and we're developing really good young players."

Porter ended the topic with this big declaration.

"It's not far off from being a really dope thing in Brooklyn," he said.

He's witnessed some positive growth in his time with the Nets...particularly for two of his youngest teammates.

Nolan Traore has stepped up big before the NBA All-Star weekend in becoming more  of a floor general. Traore dropped 20 points on the Indiana Pacers and delivered a double-double versus the Chicago Bulls

Egor Demin surfaced as a reliable sharpshooter next to Porter before the rise of Traore. Demin will also return to the Barclays Center fresh off leading Team Vince Carter to the Rising Stars victory on Friday.
