Cam Thomas ragged on his former team the Nets since his departure. Looks like Jordi Fernandez had enough.

Cam Thomas became blunt about his Brooklyn Nets departure during February. Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez finally reacted.

Thomas called the franchise out twice including believing the team "doesn't believe in anybody." Thomas expressed bitterness in his exit and has since landed with the Milwaukee Bucks

But now the head coach broke his silence about Thomas' recent words. He began by expressing he has no hard feeling toward his former player.

"We wish Cam the best. We loved him while he was here. We hope that he does very well where he is,” Fernandez told Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.

But Fernandez became honest himself about Thomas' words.

“I don’t know if he has the right to speak about others," Fernandez said.

He also let it be known how he feels about the current roster without Thomas in the building.

"We’re happy with the guys we have here," Fernandez said. "I believe that everybody here can help us with what we have planned."

Fernandez dropped a far different take from these words Thomas shared nearly one week ago:

"That’s just who they are,” Thomas told Stefan Bondy of the New York Post. “They don’t believe in nobody.”

He also claimed he never asked to be traded or even released.

"I don’t even care anymore. I’m on a different team," Thomas concluded.

The Bucks picked up Thomas off waivers after his Nets departure. Brooklyn failed to find a trade suitor for the embattled player.

Thomas once averaged more than 21 points a game for Brooklyn, establishing himself as the second-leading scorer next to Michael Porter Jr. However, he eventually lost ground to rookie Egor Demin as the trusted second sharpshooter.

Brooklyn hasn't fared any better since the Thomas exit. The Nets just lost their 10th straight game for the first time since the 2021-22 season, this time falling to the Miami Heat 126-110 (Miami's second victory over the Nets in a span of three days).

Thomas dropped 11 points in 18 minutes on Wednesday against the Atlanta Hawks. He also scored 15 on March 1 against the Chicago Bulls.

By the way, the Bucks and Nets do have a regular season contest against one another -- set for April 7 which becomes the first time Thomas faces his old team.
