The Brooklyn Nets received some advice for this coming weekend.
And for the Saturday after that once the calendar flips to February.
Brooklyn is watching its season unravel fast -- sparking trade rumblings involving Michael Porter Jr., Cam Thomas and Nic Claxton among the names. Now there's new potential for a multiple player deal involving the Nets and Philadelphia 76ers among league circles.
But this advice doesn't involve making a deal with another franchise. Nor does it involve making some roster tweaks for head coach Jordi Fernandez.
Here's the suggestion that Howie Kussoy of The New York Post dropped on Monday.
"On Saturday, the top two projected picks in the 2026 draft will face off when Kansas’ Darryn Peterson and BYU’s AJ Dybantsa meet at Allen Fieldhouse. The following Saturday, Duke’s Cameron Boozer will battle North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson in a matchup of projected top four picks. This is where the Nets must look to find hope this season," Kussoy said.
Another words -- send out scouts or even general manager Sean Marks to scout out these talented players. Perhaps Fernandez can join in too -- as the Nets aren't in action for Saturday.
Dybantsa appears to be a rising contender for the Nets. He recently delivered an astonishing 43 points on BYU's in-state rival Utah this past Saturday. Dybantsa has sparked conversations ahead of the June draft that he'll become the top overall pick.
He'd return to the east coast too if the Nets indeed nab him. Dybantsa grew up in Brockton, Mass., and became a five-star prospect by multiple recruiting outlets. He's proven to be worth the hype -- averaging 23.6 points per game with 6.8 rebounds. Including the 43-point outburst, he's produced 13 games of surpassing the 20-point mark.
Peterson is proving his draft stock too -- dropping 21.6 points per game with 4.6 rebounds for the Jayhawks. He's produced six 20-point nights for Kansas.
Boozer, though, brings the NBA bloodlines as he's the son of former league all-star Carlos Boozer. He's starring in Durham, N.C. just like his famed father -- averaging 23.7 points per game with 9.9 rebounds. Many scouts believe he'll be a surefire top five selection.
In-state rival Caleb Wilson at North Carolina, meanwhile, has many believing he'll be a one-and-done in Chapel Hill. He's dropping 19.9 PPG with 10.1 boards.
