Lebron James Finding Right Dynamic Around Star Luka Doncic as Lakers Surge cover image

The Lakers have a formidable duo in Lebron James and Luka Doncic.

The Los Angeles Lakers came back from an 86-79 deficit against the New Orleans Pelicans in a wild fourth quarter that saw the Lakers win 111-103. It was a victory that showed the presence of real star power on this Los Angeles squad between Lebron James and Luka Doncic. James had 30 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Doncic finished with 30 points, ten assists, and two rebounds.

It was the type of game that showed the real potential of what the duo can become, with the two combining for 187 points in their last three contests. It can sometimes be hard to find the right dynamic between two legitimate stars, especially when they’re 41-years-old and 26-years-old. But something special is brewing for the Lakers as they’ve begun to really discover a great working dynamic.

Here is the story from Lakers Roundtable writer Jeremy Lambert on the synergy that’s going on between James and Doncic.

Impressively, Los Angeles has won three straight while missing starters Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, both nursing calf injuries. That’s largely thanks to James and Doncic. It’s also been a good sign to see James really returning to form after averaging only 14 points in his first six games back after missing the first month of the year with sciatica. As he rebounds back into true form, the Lakers are discovering the true potential on their court.
