The Indiana Pacers recently hosted this former ACC standout point guard for a workout earlier this week.
The Indiana Pacers, after a brutal 2025-26 NBA season, will now look to improve the current roster throughout the course of the offseason.
While many teams across the league are beginning to prepare for the 2026 NBA Draft, the Pacers’ unfortunate luck in the recent NBA Draft Lottery puts the organization in a rough spot to acquire young playmakers. But this, however, does not prevent Indiana from using their resources on some of the potential top undrafted free agents following the conclusion of the draft.
According to a social media post by the Pacers, the organization hosted multiple NBA-hopeful players for a workout, with North Carolina Tar Heels Seth Trimble being part of the mix.
Should the Pacers Target Trimble?

Smith Center. Mandatory Credit: Scott Kinser-Imagn ImagesTrimble, who spent the last four seasons with the Tar Heels, was a key piece to the program’s offensive attack. After starting in three games in his first two college seasons, the 6-foot-3, 200 lbs. point guard finally received an increase in his workload during the 2024-25 season. In his 34 games played, Trimble started in 18 contests, while averaging 11.6 points, five rebounds, and 1.4 steals for North Carolina, despite being overshadowed by the likes of RJ Davis and Ian Jackson.
However, Trimble would finally become a full-time starter for the Tar Heels in his senior season. Throughout the course of the 2025-26 college basketball season, the talented guard would go on to average 14 points, 3.8 rebounds, and three assists in 24 games, which was the third-most on his team behind star forward Caleb Wilson and center Henri Veesaar.
Now, with the 2026 NBA Draft less than one month away, the Pacers will look to build their roster for the upcoming year this offseason. Unfortunately for fans, the organization does not possess a pick in the draft after trading for center Ivaic Zubic during the season. In addition to losing their first-round pick, the Pacers were unable to secure the Toronto Raptors’ second-round pick despite trading center James Wiseman, since it was a top-55 protected pick.
Currently, Indiana’s point guard combination of Tyrese Haliburton and T.J. McConnell is set to return to the court for next season. If the Pacers were to pursue Trimble, it would most likely be as a potential G-League player.
