One day before their official on-court debut, the Detroit Pistons have unveiled their City Edition uniforms for the 2025-26 regular season amid a seven-game winning streak that has the team in first place in the Eastern Conference.
In previous years, the jerseys have been designed to harness the culture and identity of the city with the branding and iconic imagery of the pro basketball squad together as one cohesive uniform. That goal rings true once again as the Pistons jersey was specifically curated to blend specific identity-instilling traits.
The Pistons issued a press release about the team’s new addition to the jersey rotation earlier today.
“The Detroit Pistons’ 2025-26 Nike NBA City Edition uniform remixes the 2021-22 City Edition Moments Mixtape uniform, blending heritage elements from past eras with the identity of the current team and symbolizing the franchise’s championship DNA and long-standing connection to the city.”

Detroit guard Daniss Jenkins stepped up in a major way on Monday night
“The design brings back the signature lightning bolt motif on the side panels on both the jersey and shorts, a hallmark of Detroit Basketball in the 1970s and 1980s. The oil gray uniform incorporates colors – including maroon, sundial yellow and teal – and details from multiple eras of the franchise, creating a bold tribute to the history, culture and pride of Detroit Basketball.”
According to the release, the Pistons are set to sport the uniforms for the first time at home on Wednesday, Nov. 12 against the Chicago Bulls. During the season, Detroit is going to host eight specific City Edition Nights that will feature not only the special jerseys but also a Flaming Horse logo at mid-court as the hardwood iconography shifts for the event night as well.
