Devin Booker is slated to remain at point guard, while new arrival Miles Bridges reshapes a revamped rotation tasked with lifting Phoenix toward Western Conference contention.
The Phoenix Suns are entering the 2026-27 season with designs of improving upon the 45-win campaign that ended in April.
The franchise made moves to improve the roster (on paper), but there are challenging decisions that head coach Jordan Ott will be tasked with figuring out.
Follow the projected depth chart heading into late September's training camp below.
PG: Devin Booker, Collin Gillespie, Jamaree Bouyea, Pat Spencer (Two-Way)
Booker is likely to begin another season as the starting point guard despite the evidence pointing towards the 11-year vet being most effective as a playmaker out of scoring first. Gillespie is a near shoe-in to be Phoenix's sixth-man after a historic 2025-26 season in which he made the most three-point shots in a single season in franchise history.
Bouyea is a breath of fresh air in the rotation, as he brings undying energy to the court, while Spencer is a valid flyer play that Phoenix management took.
SG: Jalen Green, Luke Kennard, Jordan Goodwin/Haywood Highsmith, Kobe Brea (Two-Way)
The onus is on Green to take a step forward in year two as a Sun. He will begin the season as a starter, but is there potential for a change if there's a slow start to the season? Kennard is Phoenix's attempt to rebound from the loss of Grayson Allen. The 10-year vet will receive a significant role, but he must commit to upping his three-point volume.
Goodwin and Highsmith are interchangeable between SG/SF - both will be valuable in different situations in the season ahead. Brea remains an enticing three-and-d prospect, although he won't receive much run at the NBA level.
SF: Dillon Brooks, Goodwin/Highsmith, Ryan Dunn
Brooks is a shoe-in to start after re-upping with the Suns on a three-year extension. The clock is ticking for Dunn in Phoenix. There's an opportunity for minutes, but the Virginia product must show marked growth on the offensive side of the ball to avoid being buried in Ott's rotation for good.
PF: Miles Bridges, Rasheer Fleming/Oso Ighodaro, Koa Peat
Bridges is overwhelmingly likely to start for the Suns after being traded to Phoenix in July. Fleming is in line to serve in a substantial role, but he will likely be interchangeable with Ighodaro at the four depending on matchup. Peat showed an ability to play NBA basketball in his rookie year during the Las Vegas Summer League, but climbing up the depth chart will be challenging.
C: Mark Williams, Khaman Maluach/Ighodaro, CJ Huntley (Two-Way)
Williams will enter the season as the starting center, but there is a distinct likelihood that Maluach will receive starts this season due to the former's propensity to suffer damaging injuries.
Phoenix opens up preseason play on October 5 against the Detroit Pistons.
