The Minnesota Timberwolves reveal their injury report for game one.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will begin their second round series against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, May 4.
The sixth-seeded Timberwolves knocked off the third-seeded Denver Nuggets in the first round, taking a 3-1 lead and eventually closing them out in six games. Minnesota dropped game one of the series, but went on to win the next three. They lost game five, but finished off the series in game six, winning all three games at home.
The two-seed Spurs advanced past the seventh-seed Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, winning in five games. The Spurs lost game two after Victor Wembanyama went down with an injury in the middle of the game, but went on to win three straight, including game three without Wemby.
Game one begins at 9:30 PM ET from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.
Minnesota Timberwolves Injury Report
Anthony Edwards is officially QUESTIONABLE with a left knee bone bruise. Edwards suffered the injury in game four on April 25 against the Nuggets. He was reportedly set to miss multiple weeks, but the Timberwolves announced on Sunday that he has been cleared for on-court basketball activities. There was optimism that he could return for game three or four of this series, but being listed as questionable and not "out" or "doubtful" brings new optimism that he will return in game one or two.
Reports indicate that he is expected to play in game one.
Ayo Dosunmu remains QUESTIONABLE with right calf soreness. Dosunmu missed game six against the Nuggets after playing 38 minutes in game five. He was the hero in game four of the series after Edwards and DiVincenzo went down in the first half, scoring 43 points.
Donte DiVincenzo is OUT after undergoing right Achilles surgery. DiVincenzo tore his Achilles tendon just two minutes into game four against Denver.
With Edwards and Dosunmu out of the lineup in game six against Denver, Minnesota started Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, Terrence Shannon Jr, and Mike Conley.
Naz Reid, Jaylen Clark, and Bones Hyland were the only players off the bench for game six.
San Antonio Spurs Injury Report
Carter Bryant is QUESTIONABLE with a right foot sprain. Bryant played limited minutes against Portland with the exception of game three when the Spurs were without Wembanyama.
San Antonio is expected to start De'Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Julian Champagnie.
Dylan Harper, Keldon Johnson, Luke Kornet, and Harrison Barnes will be the top players off the bench.
