The Golden State Warriors will be without numerous key players against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday

The Golden State Warriors took care of business on Sunday, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves in blowout fashion in a game that was filled with emotions on both sides as a result of the incidents in Minneapolis over the past couple of days. Due to the postponement, the two teams return to action on Monday yet again.

Golden State was able to capitalize on 25 turnovers by the Timberwolves, with 20 steals coming from the Warriors in a strong defensive performance. Steph Curry also led the way with 26 points and was perfect on all nine of his free-throw attempts, but the Warriors won't have the luxury of their legendary guard on Monday to save them.

Warriors Injury Report#

The injury report for the Warriors on Monday is sizable, with seven players ruled out for the second leg of the back-to-back.

Headlining the absences are the three highest-paid players for the Warriors, as Jimmy Butler (ACL), Steph Curry (inflammation), and Draymond Green (soreness) are all ruled OUT for Monday's contest.

Joining them on the sideline will be Seth Curry (nerve), Al Horford (toe), Jonathan Kuminga (knee), and De'Anthony Melton (knee), who are ruled OUT as well. The only other player listed is LJ Cryer, as the two-way guard is listed as QUESTIONABLE with tightness in his left hamstring.

The Warriors haven't done much in the games Curry has missed this season, going 4-6, but are 2-1 in their past three contests without him. With Curry sidelined, the pressure will be on Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, and Buddy Hield to contribute significantly to the team's offensive production.

Timberwolves Injury Report#

For the Timberwolves, Rocco Zikarsky and Enrique Freeman are OUT as they are on two-way contracts and with the G League team, while Terrence Shannon Jr. remains OUT due to a left foot injury, with Leonard Miller listed as QUESTIONABLE with low back spasms.

After a poor performance on Sunday, the Timberwolves will have the significant upper hand with their star trio of Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, and Rudy Gobert available for them.

Game Preview#

The last time the Warriors faced the Timberwolves without Curry was during the 2025 Western Conference Semifinals, as Golden State secured a victory in Game 1 despite Curry missing the second half, but lost the final four games of the series.

The Warriors did have Kuminga and Butler to supplement them offensively in that series, and won't have that luxury on Monday. Therefore, Steve Kerr and the rest of the coaching staff will have to stick with whatever hot hand they can find to keep up with a Timberwolves team looking to end a five-game losing streak.
