Steph Curry entered the top 20 of the NBA's All-Time scoring list in the Warriors' win against the Timberwolves.

The Golden State Warriors' game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday was postponed to Sunday, creating a peculiar back-to-back against the same team. The additional day off theoretically should have made everybody healthier for the front end, but it was seemingly the opposite scenario for Steph Curry.

The future Hall of Famer was listed as questionable on the injury report for Sunday's postponed game with right knee soreness, even though he didn't pop up on the initial report for Saturday's game.

However, Curry ended up playing as normal, and he made some NBA history along the way. The Warriors ended up winning with a defensive masterclass in blowout fashion, 111-85.

Curry Rises Into Rare Territory On All-Time Scoring List#

Curry has made multiple headlines through his rise up the NBA's all-time scoring list this season. He came into this season with 25,386 points, sitting behind Alex English in 24th.

He passed English back in early November, leaped Vince Carter in late November, and broke the 26,000 barrier in addition to surpassing Kevin Garnett just before the end of 2025. Now, Curry has made NBA history again.

With his 24-point game against the Timberwolves, Curry officially passed John Havlicek to enter the top 20 of the NBA's all-time scoring list. A pair of free throws, in fact, did double duty in breaking his tie with Havlicek, then tying Curry with another Celtics legend, Paul Pierce, for 19th.

Now, Curry will have his sights set on Tim Duncan, who stands less than 100 points away in 18th place. The top 15 is also well within reach for Curry, a mark that fellow active point guard Russell Westbrook just reached. Assuming Westbrook continues scoring, it'll be Hakeem Olajuwon that Curry will have to surpass for the top 15. The Dream finished his career with 26,946, meaning Curry will need 550 points, or about 20 games at his current 27.4 points per game average.

Warriors Post Defensive Masterclass#

Curry will get much of the love for his history-making game, but the entire Warriors team showed up to play at Target Center on the front end of the back-to-back. It seemed like they were eager to get started after the postponement and put all their energy into the defense.

The Warriors forced a season-high 26 turnovers and turned that into 25 points of their own. As a result, the Timberwolves shot 16 fewer attempts than the Warriors and finished with 15 fewer assists.

Anthony Edwards was still able to get his, dropping 32 points and 11 rebounds on 13-20 shooting from the floor, but only two other Timberwolves joined him in double figures — Donte DiVincenzo scored 22, and Julius Randle had 11. In fact, outside of Edwards' positive shooting, the rest of the Timberwolves made just 17 total shots and shot an abysmal 28.8% from the field.

Their 85 points ended up being the third-fewest points the Warriors have allowed this season and also just the third time they've allowed less than 90 points.

The Warriors will surely be looking to repeat this masterpiece of a defensive showing just over 24 hours later when they battle against the Timberwolves once again.
