Gui Santos revealed what he was thinking after hitting the game-winning shot against the Grizzlies.

The Golden State Warriors came away with another unbelievable victory on Monday night, coming back from down 17 to steal a win from the Memphis Grizzlies. The team-oriented offense and stifling fourth-quarter defense allowed the Dubs to repeat their magic from last Thursday against the Suns and move to 29-25 on the season.

Led by veteran big man Al Horford and a slew of mismatched role players and reserves for the shorthanded squad, the Warriors showed off what they can do even without Steph Curry or their newest member, Kristaps Porzingis. This win just adds gas to the flames of excitement in anticipation of both of their appearances on the court set for after the All-Star break.

Santos Gives His Reaction To The Win

After the game, Gui Santos talked about the emotions that come with a win like this and how he reacted to his game-winning layup.

"It's great, not going to lie. Feels good. Especially the way the game was, we could feel that we were not bringing the energy that we usually bring the whole game, but that last quarter was different. We just were there hooping together, everybody happy, everybody just playing for each other, playing hard on defense, running for each other. The last game-winning basket feels like cereja (cherry), the fruit at the top of the cake."

It was a frenzy at the end of the game leading up to the final bucket, and as Santos said, it ended up being a fitting finishing touch on an elite fourth quarter on both sides of the ball for the Warriors.

Santos Continues To Play Best Basketball Of Career

Santos was the hero of the night on Monday, specifically, but it's nothing new for him. In the past few games, Santos has really come into his own and has been posting career bests across the board. It's now seven games in a row that Santos has scored 11 points or more, a stretch in which he's averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game on 62.7% shooting from the field and 43.3% from three-point range.

In the month of February, which includes the past four games, Santos has an offensive rating of 125 — an almost unbelievable number for someone whose career offensive rating is just 116. That comes across an average of 29.5 minutes per game in those four games and displays the raw talent and connectivity that Santos brings to the court, especially considering much of that court time hasn't necessarily been with Curry out there to propel the offense.

The Jimmy Butler injury wasn't ideal, obviously, but it has opened the door for Santos to absorb many of those minutes and absolutely thrive. It also gives Steve Kerr more options at the forward position if Santos continues to play this well. In fact, Draymond Green didn't see the court in clutch minutes in either the Suns or Grizzlies games, outside of the final possession against the Suns for purely defensive purposes.

For Santos to be such a fantastic hustle and energy guy that can now seemingly offer extremely positive offensive impact and very solid defense is a midseason treasure falling into the Warriors' laps.
