James' agent did not hold back when asked about the idea of his client joining forces with Steph Curry in Golden State.

The basketball world is still waiting on LeBron James, and his agent keeps adding intrigue to the most fascinating scenario on the board.

Rich Paul joined Bill Simmons on the Game Over podcast this week and fielded questions about the idea of James teaming up with Steph Curry in Golden State, a pairing fans have imagined since the 2024 Olympics.

Simmons openly lobbied for the move during the episode, and Paul played along while reminding everyone that the choice belongs to one person.

"In the event that was to take place, the only thing missing is Michael Jackson's glove in terms of how big of a rockstar," Paul said. "It's not my choice. I don't have a choice. I don't have a choice in this. Let the man have his choice."

A Duo Built for a Global Stage

Paul expanded on what two megastars sharing one roster would mean for the league as a whole.

"When you talk about growing the game globally, in the event something like that takes place where you get two mega-superstars on one team, that team has to go to any country that you're trying to grow awareness of the game," he said. The agent already praised the fit earlier this month, telling listeners that "if we're talking strictly basketball, you don't want to play them. You definitely don't want to play them in a playoff series."

James, who turns 42 in December, averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists over 60 games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season while making the All-Star team at 41, and he informed the franchise earlier this month that he intends to play his 24th season somewhere else.

Curry remains as dangerous as ever after averaging 26.6 points on 39.3 percent three-point shooting in an injury-shortened 43-game campaign.

Where the Warriors Actually Stand

Golden State finished 10th in the West and bowed out in the play-in against Phoenix, a result that only increased the urgency to add star power around Curry.

The fan base found encouragement in LeBron's latest comments, even though ESPN's Shams Charania reported the focus of James' search has primarily been on Eastern Conference teams like Cleveland, Miami and Philadelphia.

There remains one thing that could draw James to the Bay despite those East rumors, and Curry himself recently opened up about what comes next in his career as he enters his age-38 season.

Health will shape any pursuit, since Jimmy Butler is working back from the torn ACL he suffered in January and Moses Moody is recovering from a patellar tendon injury of his own.

Golden State also has contract questions looming with Draymond Green and Kristaps Porzingis, so the roster picture could shift quickly.

Until James picks his destination, every word from his agent will be treated like a clue, and this one sounded far more like an invitation than a denial.
