The shorthanded Warriors pulled out an improbable upset in overtime over the Rockets.

The Golden State Warriors went into Thursday night's game against the Houston Rockets with a whopping seven players on the injury report. Led by Steph Curry and Kristaps Porzingis, those seven players could genuinely form a solid NBA rotation of their own.

Thus, the Warriors arrived at the Toyota Center with just 10 healthy bodies, three of which were players on two-way contracts. On the other side, the only two rotation pieces for the Rockets were Steven Adams and Fred VanVleet, both of whom are already ruled out for the year.

The Dubs didn't let this discrepancy slow them down at all, though. From beginning to end, the Warriors battled with the No. 3 team in the Western Conference and ended up coming away with the win after a wild overtime ending, 115-113.

Steve Kerr Acknowledges Significance Of Victory

After the game, Steve Kerr acknowledged just how significant the win was, considering all of the injuries.

"To be that shorthanded and to have that kind of a performance on the road against a great team. I'm really proud of the guys. I thought it was incredible to watch. I thought that was vintage Draymond, with the defense, the leadership, the force, the passing. I thought that might have been Brandin's best game of the year. I just love the fight. I loved the fight last game against the Clippers, we just have to compete night after night. If we play well like we did tonight, we got a shot against anybody. The mentality is right, and we just got to keep plugging away. Tonight was really fun."

Draymond Green, in particular, has been struggling in some of these past few weeks, especially without Curry. However, as Kerr said, Green was incredible defending both on the perimeter against Kevin Durant and in the post against Alperen Sengun. He also finished the game with a game-high 8 assists and was second on the team as a +12 plus/minus.

Multiple Warriors Make Big-Time Plays Down The Stretch

The shorthanded Warriors were absolutely incredible down the stretch, scratching and clawing to come up with the win.

They were led by Brandin Podziemski, who scored a team-high 26 points and knocked down a massive three with 2 and a half minutes to play in overtime to take the lead for good.

De'Anthony Melton made what turned out to be the game-sealing layup with just over 5 seconds left, capping off a 23-point night that saw him put up a career-high 22 shot attempts.

39-year-old Al Horford was also incredible, playing excellent defense on both Alperen Sengun and Kevin Durant while making timely shots. He had 7 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, including a big three to take the lead with under a minute left in regulation and a tough post hook with under 40 seconds left in overtime.

Though his stat line didn't pop the most, Gui Santos played a career-high 42 minutes and finished as a game-high +20, providing extremely valuable play on both offense and defense. Fellow G-League player LJ Cryer was also a huge spark off the bench, knocking down four triples in just his fourth career NBA game.

It was simply an incredible win by the Warriors on the road against a formidable team. They'll celebrate this hard-fought win before heading one state north to face another Western Conference titan in the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.
