Steph Curry made his case to LeBron James.

The Golden State Warriors may be fading as contenders for LeBron James in free agency, but that doesn't mean that they're going to slow down in their pursuit of the four-time MVP.

Draymond Green will certainly be doing his part as him and James share the same representation and have a friendship off the court and even "hung out" according to a report from ESPN's Shams Charania, where the prospect of James coming to the Warriors very possibly came up, and now it's Steph Curry's turn.

While playing in the American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament, Curry was asked to give his best public pitch to bring James to Golden State and in doing so Curry relied on the Warriors collective knowledge and resume as basketball icons as reasons to entice James to the Bay and Curry, of course, ended by appealing to both his and James' shared interest: golf.

Curry Pitches to LeBron

“The pitch is: Do you want to play good basketball and be around people who know how to play the game? Raise our floor, competitiveness...There’s good golf in the Bay," Curry said (via 95.7 The Game).

If James does end up coming to Golden State, which does look slim compared to the prospect of him heading to Cleveland or Miami, Curry will be the reason that he does.

James and Curry have a storied history. They met in four consecutive NBA Finals, three of which the Warriors won, though the 2016 championship that James stole from the Warriors stands out as the most iconic of the bunch, and that history bred a bitter rivalry at times.

Rivals and Friends

Fueling their clashes even more was the talent that James and Curry had and still have. At their peaks, they were the two best players in the world and were often mentioned in the same breath as each other.

Over time, as both grew older and wiser, that rivalry grew into mutual respect and a friendship that's apparent today. They are fixtures of a fading era as the next generation of stars rises rapidly around them. With their careers drawing to a close, Curry and James have found found a bond as the old guard of the NBA.

For all of those reasons, James heading to Golden State to finish out his career is a poetic end for one of the NBA's greatest stars, but as the weeks of discussion and speculation have proven, poetry isn't the only thing that's need to draw James in.

If Curry's appeal reaches James though, maybe his rival's words will carry some extra weight.
