This offseason, the Golden State Warriors have had to worry about two major injuries that occurred last season, with Moses Moody tearing his left patellar tendon and Jimmy Butler tearing his ACL. 

This leaves Steph Curry and the Warriors without two key contributors to start the season, but now there are some concerns about Curry on the injury front. According to Monte Poole of NBC Sports, Curry has been dealing with a knee injury. Monte Poole 

Poole says that the injury is not severe enough to miss time, but it's something he and the Warriors will have to manage throughout the season. Still, Curry expects to play 70 or more regular-season games this season. 

If Stephen Curry were to miss time this season, it could set the Warriors back very far. Golden State is a team that is currently dealing with some depth issues on their roster, and the injuries to Butler and Moody did not do them any favors. 

Going into 2026, it's clear that Steph Curry will have to carry a load of the offense, and he will need some of his teammates to step up. From the Warriors' point of view, they may not be able to afford having Curry miss time, especially at the start of the season. 

Curry is coming off a season in which he played in 43 games, but in seasons prior to 2025-2026, he has been relatively durable. In 2023 and 2024, he played in at least 70 games, and that is likely his goal again in 2026-2027. 

Without Curry, the Warriors lack a true number one option offensively. Other than Curry, Jimmy Butler is the only 20-point-per-game scorer on this roster, but with his age and the injury he's working back from, it could be tough for him to repeat those numbers. 

One player who will need to step up offensively, regardless of Curry's availability, is Brandin Podziemski. Podziemski is a player who has had some consistency issues during his time in the NBA, but if he can find his rhythm in Curry's absence, the Warriors could manage to win tough games. 

Golden State has been a team that has been trying to stay afloat as long as they have Steph Curry on its roster. They were unable to make major moves this summer, and a lot of the success in their season depends on Curry and his play. If Stephen Curry comes down with a major injury, the Warriors could be in position to draft high in the lottery in 2027.
