The Golden State Warriors were essentially silent during the offseason, which is a major issue for the Warriors considering their lackluster 2025-26 regular season finish. 

Considering that the Warriors were looking to take a big swing this offseason and land at least one notable star to pair with Steph Curry, whether that be Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard or LeBron James, the unchanged state of the roster is a major cause for concern. 

The Warriors did at least secure some of their most significant players like Kristaps Porzingis and did add an impactful young forward in Yaxel Lendeborg, who is expected to have a major load as a rookie this upcoming season, but overall there are a lot more questions than answers when it comes to the general makeup of the Warriors.

Head coach Steve Kerr didn't shy away from discussing the Warriors' overall inactivity during the offseason in a recent interview, but that doesn't mean he lacks confidence in what the Warriors will be capable of next season either.

"I think our depth is the answer," Kerr said (via CurryForGame on X). "We're going to have to rely on our whole roster, including our 2-way players at times and fortunately, I do feel really good about the guys we have who have kind of filled out the back end of the roster and I think they can help us hold down the fort until Jimmy and Moses get back."

Not adding to the existing depth will remain a lingering issue for the Warriors, but Kerr's confidence does speak to the depth that the team has. Even without the addition of a superstar player, the Warriors do have the makings of a dependable team, especially with the addition of Lendeborg.

The Warriors have made it clear that they are content with this past offseason being an "in-between" phase in terms of their development, even if that means another year burned of Curry's career, but what they have is the foundation for something that, with some additions, can be contenders once again.

This offseason may have not moved the needle in terms of roster development for the Warriors, but they still have the resources ahead of them to rebuild into a threatening team once again. 

That process may be far out, especially with the delays caused by this offseason's inactivity, but if Kerr's faith in the Warriors' depth is well-founded, the Warriors could experience a bounce-back year, especially when they have the benefit of Jimmy Butler coming back from his ACL injury.

Ultimately, it's good coaching for Kerr to publicly express faith in his team despite their inactive offseason. Now it remains to be seen if the Warriors can show that their delayed start to a rebuild was worth it and that their depth is strong enough to carry them through next season before any other moves can be made.
