Steve Kerr reacts to Moses Moody's scary injury he suffered against the Mavericks.

The Golden State Warriors' 2025-26 season has been turned upside down. Just over two months ago, things were going swimmingly, with the Warriors five games over .500 and firmly in the hunt for a top 6 seed in the Western Conference.

A pair of knee injuries between Jimmy Butler's torn ACL and Steph Curry's lingering knee issue has all but derailed the season, placing the Warriors in 10th in the Western Conference. Since that point in mid-January, the Warriors haven't won consecutive games.

Things got even worse as another brutal knee injury joined the fray on Monday night. In the Warriors' 137-131 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks, Moses Moody suffered a devastating left knee injury that required him to be stretchered off the floor.

Steve Kerr Reacts To Moody's Injury

After the game, Steve Kerr gave his reaction to Moody's injury.

"We don't know what it is, but it sure looked bad. Just hoping for the best. Mo is such a great human being. Great teammate. Wonderful guy to coach. Just puts in the work every day and was brilliant (Monday night), by the way."

The Warriors will likely find out soon what Moody's injury exactly is. He is set to fly back home with the Warriors and get an MRI on Tuesday afternoon to find out the extent of the damage, particularly to his patella and some of the ligaments in his knee.

How Does The Injury Affect The Warriors?

If Moody is forced to miss the rest of the season, things once again look bleak for the Warriors' rest-of-season outlook. Moody has been a stellar role player for the Warriors this year, providing great three-point shooting and defense in what has been a career year for him.

The Warriors have already played the last 10 games before Monday without Moody, but there wasn't really anything good to take out of those games. Ultimately, Moody's return was supposed to be the first of a few reinforcements for the Warriors down the home stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs.

Curry was reported to be targeting a return by the end of the month, Al Horford will likely be recovered from his calf injury sooner rather than later, Seth Curry has potential to return in that same time frame as well, and guys like Kristaps Porzingis and De'Anthony Melton are only getting healthier by the game as they get further removed from their own injuries.

Instead, the season seems to have taken a nose-dive, and discussions will likely open up once again on the merit of holding Curry and others out for the rest of the season, now that Moody's injury marks a big hit to the Warriors' chances of making a postseason run.
