Kristaps Porzingis has given an update about his health.

The prevailing story that's been following the Golden State Warriors throughout preseason has been what exactly is going on with center Kristaps Porzingis, who has to appear in a preseason game so far due to an unspecified illness.

Porzingis' illness has been a major mystery in the NBA world this season as no one has been able to share any kind of clarity about what's going on with him. Head coach Steve Kerr hasn't been in contact with Porzingis and only shared that the issue is a severe one and Porzingis' own teammates like Al Horford don't know what's going on either.

In this day and age of the NBA, a wide range of player's health problems are typically available to the public especially for a player as high of a profile as Porzingis is on the Warriors, so to have something be this mysterious is certainly a peculiarity.

However, Porzingis himself has finally broken his silence with a post on his X account, though he didn't divulge any specifics about his health either.

Porzingis Speaks Up

"Hello people, I'm working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap," Porzingis wrote. "Honestly, I'm getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I'll be feeling great again soon."

Porzingis added that he's been frustrated with his health because it's something that "you can't exactly pinpoint," and made the distinction that his still-undisclosed condition is separate from a typical injury, so Porzingis' problem could more related to some form of illness, though the lack of details revealed make it impossible to speculate.

For now, Porzingis will be out indefinitely as he recovers and gets his health in order, depriving the Warriors of their sharpshooting first-option center and putting the team in a difficult spot.

Out, But With Team

Porzingis signed a two-year, $40 million contract extension with the Warriors this offseason after being traded to Golden State at last season's trade deadline, but without hi available the Warriors will likely be turning to a mix of Draymond Green and Al Horford to fill the void at the five, which puts heavy strain on the Warriors' overall roster.

Even with Porzingis out indefinitely, he'll reportedly still be around the team, so he can at least be somewhat of a presence for the team while he recovers.

The mystery and uncertainty around Porzingis' condition is an issue that the Warriors would rather not have to contend with, but the positive news to take from his statement is that he is seemingly getting his health back and the fact that he is in the place to be around the team is a bright spot in an otherwise bad situation.
