Who could the Warriors add to the roster?

The Golden State Warriors didn't make significant roster changes in the offseason, instead hoping that familiarity, chemistry, and health will lead to success in 2026-27.

The team re-signed Draymond Green, who initially opted out of his player option but re-signed for the same amount, Kristaps Porzingis, Gary Payton II, Al Horford, and DeAnthony Melton.

They drafted promising rookie Yaxel Lendeborg out of Michigan 11th overall. The all-around forward was part of Michigan's National Championship team this past season.

They'll begin the season without Jimmy Butler, who suffered a torn ACL in January, and Moses Moody, who suffered a torn patellar tendon in March. Those two losses are big blows to the team's star power and depth.

More Additions?

According to Jake Fischer and Marc Stein of the Stein Line Newsletter, the Warriors are interested in and potentially targeting Georges Niang, Dalen Terry, and Brandon Williams as potential bench options.

Niang, a forward, spent last season with the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers, appearing in 79 games and averaging 21.5 minutes. With the Hawks, he played 28 games and shot 41% from three on 6.6 attempts. He averaged 12.1 points, three rebounds, and 1.6 assists with the Hawks.

Williams, a guard, played 66 games with the Dallas Mavericks last season, averaging 22.2 minutes. He averaged 13 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists on 47% shooting from the field but only 23% from three.

Terry, also a guard, appeared in 48 games between the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers last season, averaging 11.5 minutes per game. He averaged 3.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists on 43% shooting and 36% from three. He's known more for his defense than his offense.

The Best Fit?

Terry would provide a defensive option, but could slow down the offense. He would be a low-maintenance player on the offensive end, and if he could increase his three-point percentage, he wouldn't be as much of a negative on that end of the floor.

Williams would make for a solid backup guard, but would probably be fourth on the depth chart behind Steph Curry, De'Anthony Melton, and Will Richard. His three-point shooting is also going to hold him back in the Warriors' offense.

Niang's shooting would be a big benefit, and he's a proven rotation player, which should give him a leg up on Terry and Williams, but it doesn't help the Warriors get any younger. Niang will be 32 this season while Williams will be 27 and Terry will be 24. The Warriors are already one of the older teams in the league, and Niang

With Niang's shooting though, it should have a leg up on the competition.
