Golden State will host the Clippers on Sunday without its two longtime leaders as the team starts a back-to-back.

The Golden State Warriors will be without guard Stephen Curry and forward Draymond Green when they host the Los Angeles Clippers at Chase Center on Sunday night.

Both players are listed as out on the league's official injury report, with Curry out for right knee injury management and Green out for bilateral low back injury management.

The Full Warriors List

Golden State is also without forward Jimmy Butler III, who is recovering from right ACL surgery, and guard Moses Moody, who is out after left patellar tendon surgery.

Center Kristaps Porzingis is also out and is listed as not with the team.

Forward Gui Santos is probable with left knee tendinitis, so he should be available.

The Warriors play again Monday night at home against the Phoenix Suns, which explains the timing, and head coach Steve Kerr warned back in October that the team would be careful with its older players all season.

"I would just come out and tell the fans out there to be mindful (of the schedule) when you're buying the tickets because we've got not just Steph, but we've got multiple vets we are going to try to manage because it's the only way we can do this," Kerr said in mid-October.

With Curry out, guard Will Richard is a likely candidate to move into the starting lineup, according to NBC Sports.

Golden State Comes In Hot

The Warriors are 3-3 after winning three games in a row.

Golden State fell behind by 25 points early and still won 112-95, as Curry scored 31 points and made eight of his 14 3-point attempts.

He also passed Dominique Wilkins for 18th place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

Green had only two points but added nine assists and three steals.

Curry was already feeling relieved after the road wins in Denver and Minnesota that started this run.

That comeback also gave Golden State's younger players a boost, as Kerr praised forward Yaxel Lendeborg's feel for the game after the win.

Players like Lendeborg and Richard will have to carry more of the load on Sunday.

The Clippers Are Short-Handed Too

Los Angeles has a long injury list of its own.

Guard Bradley Beal is out with right knee injury management, and forward Brandon Ingram is out after right heel surgery.

Guard Max Strus is out with a right plantar fascia tear, guard Jordan Miller is out after left rotator cuff surgery and center Yanic Konan Niederhauser is out after right Lisfranc surgery.

The Clippers are 1-4 and have lost four straight, including a 127-101 loss in Minnesota on Friday.

Even without Curry and Green, Golden State should be the favorite at home against a team that has struggled this much, since the Warriors have the depth to cover one night, and holding both stars out before a home game against Phoenix is the smart call.

Golden State has already sorted through plenty of injury news this season, and keeping Curry and Green fresh for the long run is worth more than one game in early November.

I expect the Warriors to lean on their younger players Sunday and still give the Clippers a tough night at Chase Center.
