Yaxel Lendeborg didn't hold back talking about Luka Doncic.
Yaxel Lendeborg got his first taste of regular season NBA action on Wednesday when the Golden State Warriors traveled to take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Things didn’t go the way of the Warriors as they lost 127-105, with the game getting out of hand late in the first half.
Lendeborg, picked eleventh overall by the Warriors in the 2026 draft, finished with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting, three rebounds, and two assists.
On the defensive side of the floor, he was tasked with guarding Luka Doncic, which didn’t come easy. Doncic had 28 points in the game and drew a number of fouls on Lendeborg, who ended up with four personal fouls in his 28 minutes of action.
Doncic and Lendeborg were jawing at each other all game, highlighted by an end of half exchange after Doncic banked in a half-court shot as time expired in the second quarter.
Lendeborg Calls Out Luka
Many fans and players have noticed Doncic complaining about calls and non-calls throughout his career, but Lendeborg saw firsthand just how much Doncic appeals to the referees on Wednesday.
After the game, Lendeborg said about Luka, “Being in there first hand, just watching all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect man. Like, that was awful. Like me getting frustrated, it’s not about the foul being called. It’s about him complaining the entire game.”

Lendeborg said he had respect for Doncic coming into the game because he watched highlights of him killing people, but didn’t watch full games.
The Michigan product sarcastically congratulated Doncic on getting foul calls and then trash-talking like he did something, calling it “weak.”
Doncic went 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. Austin Reaves also made multiple trips to the line, going 10-for-10. Both teams shot 27 free throws in total.
Lendeborg Is Not Afraid
Everyone knew coming into the draft and then into the season that Lendeborg was going to weigh in on any subject and not bite his tongue, no matter who he was speaking about.
Draymond Green admired that about his new teammate, and Doncic has never been one to shy away from trash-talking, backing it up throughout most of his career.
The Warriors are counting on Lendeborg to be a big contributor this season, especially in the wake of Kristaps Porzingis being unlikely to return to the team. They will need him to keep that same energy on both ends of the floor, but also be smarter with his hands and pick his spots a bit better.
