There are three young players who could breakout for the Warriors next season.
The Golden State Warriors are going into the 2026-2027 season with holes on their roster, and if they want to exceed expectations this year, they will need some players to break out.
The Warriors could be going into the season without Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, and that could open doors for some players to step up and make their mark on this roster.
One player who is in a good position to have a breakout season is Gui Santos. Santos is coming off a season in which he averaged over 9 points per game in 20.5 minutes of playing time over the course of the season.
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn ImagesSantos is one of those pieces on the wing that will see more action because of the injuries, and his success could lead to the Warriors surprising teams in the Western Conference.
At 24 years old, a breakout season for him could be very beneficial to the franchise considering this is a team loaded with veteran pieces across the depth chart.
Another piece that could be in place to break out is Brandin Podziemski. Podziemski is a player who has had his ups and downs in the NBA, but a fresh start to the season could be all he needs to perform well.
Podziemski is only 23 years old, and he’s coming off a year in which he averaged 13.8 points per game. He has had games in the past where he’s shown he can be a dynamic scorer, and if he can show off some of that upside he has, it would be a huge help for Golden State.
Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn ImagesIt will be interesting how much of a different approach he will have as he enters this next season.
The third player who could be seeing a breakout year on this Warriors roster is Will Richard. Richard has not seen as much playing time as Podziemski and Santos, but he has the ability to give Golden State solid minutes next season.
Richard only averaged 6.4 points per game in 20 minutes per game his rookie year, but he has the upside to be a solid two-way piece at the shooting guard spot.
Gary A. Vasquez-Imagn ImagesRichard was part of a Florida Gators team that helped them win a national championship, and he was someone who was very versatile offensively.
If Golden State can unlock that ability in Richard next season, they could see a big jump from him and the overall bench production.
