Weeks after being speculated, Monumental Sports and Entertainment officially announced a streaming deal for the upcoming 2026-27 season including the Washington Wizards

Weeks after being speculated to be the newest addition to the network, the Washington Wizards have officially added another avenue for fans to tune into for the 2026-27 regular season in hopes of expanding network efforts through the region.

Monumental Sports Network has officially announced a multi-year partnership with DAZN on Tuesday that allows viewers to watch every game between the Wizards, Washington Mystics, Washington Capitals and Capital City Go-Go either live or on demand through the Monumental+ app. Monumental also announced that the subscription service will be made available through DAZN, though it is unclear whether changes will be made to the current pricing model for the upcoming regular season.

The release also points to additional pregame and postgame coverage, along with behind the scenes access ahead of a season that features a lot more interest and intrigue compared to the last three. It also comes nearly one year after both Hulu and YouTube TV dropped Monumental Sports Network, a move that scrapped hundreds of thousands of viewers throughout the DC, Maryland and Virginia area.

DAZN, meanwhile, will look to fill that void after the release pointed to its telecast footprint spanning from Richmond, Va. to Delaware as the Wizards look to capitalize on the heightened fan interest beginning in 2026-27. A launch date has not been formally announced.

The connection between DAZN and Monumental Sports Network stems from ViewLift, who already partnered with the Wizards and merged into DAZN after a $100 million acquisition.

Now, the Wizards became the latest in a string of NBA teams to partner with DAZN, who is reportedly expected to own exclusive broadcast rights for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies. The network is also reportedly in talks with both the Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets in what was reported as a "hybrid linear-digital approach" to games with DAZN the intermediary for consumer broadcasts.

DAZN also offers broadcast to over 140,000 games and events annually including the Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1 among other leagues.

The Wizards are set to kick off the preseason slate on Oct. 8 when they take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden for a 7:30 PM tipoff, while the regular season will kick off inside Capital One Arena on October 21 against the Milwaukee Bucks, marking the second consecutive year that the two teams have met in the regular season opener.
