The Washington Wizards have added to the 2026 Summer League roster by signing Seth Trimble
The Washington Wizards have added another to the Summer League roster, this time in the backcourt.
Former North Carolina guard Seth Trimble reportedly set to join the Wizards for Summer League, per multiple reports on Friday.
He becomes the latest addition alongside top overall pick AJ Dybantsa, second round pick Felix Okpara, Cal forward John Camden and Auburn forward Keyshawn Murphy.
Trimble, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound guard, spent all four seasons in Chapel Hill with the Tar Heels where he became a centerpiece of the Hubert Davis era.
The Wisconsin native started in just three games during his first two seasons despite 68 total appearances, averaging 1.8 points as a freshman then 5.2 points as a sophomore. But Trimble would become an integral part of the Tar Heels rotation in 2024-25 when he started in 18 of the 34 games and became the team's top defender after leading the team with 1.4 steals per game while also posting career highs in points (11.6), rebounds (5) and assists.
Trimble built on that production to become a full-time starter as a senior, starting all 24 games he was available in after improving his scoring to 14 points per game while averaging 1.3 steals to become an honorable mention All-ACC selection. One of the highlights of his college career came back on Feb. 7 when he hit the buzzer-beating three to beat Duke at home, while also lifting the Tar Heels to a win vs. 24th-ranked Louisville after scoring a career-high 30 points.
While not invited to the NBA Draft scouting combine, Trimble impressed scouts at the G League Draft Combine after leading all participants with a 43.5-inch max vertical and 38.5-inch standing vertical leap while also among the top participants in the shuttle run. He also notched 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting over two scrimmages where he enters the NBA looking to improve his perimeter shooting.
Over his final two seasons with the Tar Heels, Trimble shot 27.4% from three despite shooting 44.8% from the field during the same span.
While an official roster and staff have yet to be announced, the Wizards announced the first four games of the 2026 Summer League schedule with the first matchup featuring the top two prospects in last week's draft going head to head in AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson. The Wizards will play a fifth game with opponent and game details to be announced at a later date.
