The Washington Wizards officially filled their third and final two-way deal ahead of the 2026-27 regular season

The Washington Wizards have officially inked their second and final draft pick ahead of the start of summer league this week.

Former Tennessee forward Felix Okpara has officially inked a two-way deal with the Wizards, giving him a chance to capitalize on an expanded role with the Capital City Go-Go while rounding out the Wizards' frontcourt during the upcoming 2026-27 season.

With the news, Okpara also becomes the third and final two-way player on the roster alongside Julian Reese and Jamir Watkins. Washington also has one vacant roster spot heading into the rest of free agency with a chance to restock the backcourt now that the frontcourt has been addressed.

The Wizards acquired Okpara in a draft night trade with the Orlando Magic after sending the 51st and 60th overall picks in exchange for the rights to the former Tennessee forward, who came off the board with the 46th overall pick.

Okpara will arrive in Washington with a chance to develop into a rotational piece at the four, but he will get a chance to flash well before then with the Wizards set to kick off the summer league slate on Thursday night against Darryn Peterson and the Utah Jazz.

After beginning his career at Ohio State for two seasons, Okpara spent the final two seasons at Tennessee where he averaged at least seven points and six rebounds per game. Wizards general manager Will Dawkins pointed to his efficiency around the rim on both ends of the floor while Okpara averaged at least 1.5 blocks in each of his final three seasons, including a career-high 2.4 in 2023-24 as a Buckeye. Okpara also scored double figures in ten games and notched a pair of 20-point games as a senior, along with five double figure rebounding performances en route to an SEC Al -Defensive Team selection.

Meanwhile, additional details in Trae Young's new four year deal worth $212 million contract surfaced on Tuesday. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype added that Young has an additional 7.5% trade kicker while also having a player option heading into the fourth year of his contract. It marks an additional steep price for the Wizards despite initial projections pointing to a three year deal worth roughly $40 million annually.

Whether it proves to be the right move will be answered on the court as Young joins Anthony Davis, AJ Dybantsa and the new-look Wizards now focused on becoming more competitive in 2026-27.
