The Washington Wizards signed guard Trevor Keels to an Exhibit 10 deal following a three-team G League trade on Wednesday
The Washington Wizards have already filled the 15th and final roster spot for the upcoming 2026-27 regular season, yet with training camp approaching, the front office has started to fill out the rest of the available spots ahead of the start of the first practice.
The Wizards reportedly agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with guard Trevor Keels.
Keels began his NBA career with the New York Knicks where he appeared in only three games during the 2022-23 regular season. Keels then spent the 2023 preseason with the Minnesota Timberwolves before inking with the Miami Heat ahead of the 2025-26 regular season on a two way deal. The 23 year old guard then appeared in eight games during the regular season where he averaged one point across 1.9 minutes and 25% shooting from the field, matching his shooting from the field as a rookie.
Keels also suited up with the Sioux Falls Skyforce on the two way deal where he started in all 22 regular season games he appeared in, averaging 20.3 points, 3.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.14 steals in 34.4 minutes while shooting over 46% from the field and nearly 40% from three. That includes 11 games with 20 or more points, two 30-point performances and a career high 46 points back on Jan. 9.
The 6-foot-3 former Duke guard was drafted with the 42nd overall pick by the New York Knicks in the 2022 NBA Draft, though arrives in Washington looking to prove himself back at full strength. Keels was diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his right knee back in July, an injury that derailed the rest of his Summer League with the Heat.
The move was made a possibility after the team traded Leaky Black and Damari Monsanto to the Stockton Kings. In addition to suiting up with the Capital City Go-Go, Black started in nine of his 15 appearances with the Washington Wizards in 2025-26 where he averaged 7.1 points, five rebounds and 1.5 assists in nearly 29 minutes per game.
In addition to the Go-Go receiving the right to Keels, the Capital City Go-Go also acquiring the returning rights to Steve Settle III, a Maryland native who spent his college career at Howard then Temple. During his lone season in the G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Settle averaged 7.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting nearly 39% from the field and 35% from three.
